Decommissioning

In the United Kingdom it is illegal to decommission air conditioning systems unless you are a qualified engineer.

It is extremely dangerous to attempt to remove the air conditioning unit yourself.

The unit contains refrigerant in a liquid gas form at a static pressure of  12bar (174 psi)  when switched off and  then the pressure dramatically rises to upto 26bar (377psi) when in use. We therefore use a gas recovery unit to withdraw the refrigerant for it to be safely disposed of at designated recycling agent whereby a hazardous waste consignment note is issued.

Therefore when you need to decommission your air conditioning unit it is essential that you engage a qualifed engineer to ensure the unit is removed and dispossed of safely.

If you would like to replace the unit after the decommissioning has been carried out, please kindly contact us.
